Free Play (Finally)

Well, I finally got my book, and I have begun reading it with much enthusiasm. I was very excited when I began reading and saw that on the first page, a Japanese folk story was written.

–I am a very big fan of Japanese culture. When I was an undergrad at Loyola College in Maryland, I started studying the martial art of Ju Jitsu. Ever since then, I have been fascinated in much of Asian culture, particularly that of Japan.

Back to the book:

So far, so good! Being a jazz musician, improvisation is a very big part in my musical life. I think this book will be a great chance for me to really explore the term “improvisation,” but it will also open my mind to other forms of improv in other concentrations. I never thought to even apply the term to areas other than music and possibly acting. I shall return after I delve into “The Sources.”
